CSI Security’s Special Operations Unit and Armed Reaction Unit, working alongside Brooklyn SAPS, successfully responded to a suspected card-scamming and fraud operation at a guest house in the Greater Waterkloof area.
OPERATIONAL RESPONSE
Following a complaint received by the CSI Control Room, CSI members were dispatched to the scene, where the guest house owner provided banking documentation relating to multiple suspected fraudulent transactions.
Brooklyn SAPS was immediately requested to assist, and the suspect was interviewed on scene.
INVESTIGATION FINDINGS
Information obtained during the investigation indicated suspected fraudulent activity extending from Port Elizabeth to Pretoria, with transactions reportedly totalling approximately R24,000.
The affected bank-card holders were contacted and advised to open formal criminal cases.
*SUSPECT APPREHENDED*
The suspect was subsequently taken into SAPS custody for further investigation and criminal processing.
A black BMW allegedly linked to the investigation was also impounded.
